Spring has arrived as have the long nights. Sunset tonight 7th April is 20.15 and in mid June it will be 22.30 so you can still play golf long into the evening. The long daylight hours in June make the cottage the prefect place for exploring this wonderful region, whether on foot, bike or car. However now there is still good skiing and snowboarding to be had on Cairngorm Mountain.
Drumguish Cottage is located in the highlands of Scotland, and the Cairngorm National Park which is 1,748 square miles and larger than Luxembourg. The cottage is set among the majestic pine woods of Drumguish, with mountain views and with lots of wildlife. It is close to the town of Kingussie with its shops and golf course, and in easy reach of Aviemore and the ski slopes on Cairngorm mountain. The area is a walkers' paradise with lowland and upland trails starting direct from the cottage. Cyclists and mountain bikers also have immediate access to the tracks in Insh Forest, Glen Feshie, Glen Tromie and beyond.
The Cottage has been converted from an old crofters cottage and now has all amenities including central heating, double glazed windows and two wood burning stoves with all the wood you need included.
Summer 2025 was brilliant for wildlife sightings - red & roe deer in the garden, squirrels, wild cat, badger, osprey flying overhead, red kite, family of buzzards in the woods and many, other birds. Here's hoping for same this summer.Inverness and the airport are an hour drive away, where car hire is available, and there is a railway station, with a direct line from London, Edinburgh and Glasgow, in Kingussie. However a car is needed to access the 3 miles to Drumguish.
