Our cosy and stylish holiday cabins offer a unique retreat or short break opportunity. Each 6 x 3m cabin is perfect for two people, with a sense of space and good design. There is a sense of country calm and nature connection, but within 15 minutes of Forfar, Brechin and Montrose, with several small villages even closer.

The cabin is open plan, with double bed and chest of drawers at one end, two comfortable chairs and a coffee table in the middle, and a kitchen/eating area at the other end. There is an en-suite toilet/sink/shower.
Bumblebee and Barn Owl cabins are next to each other in a wooded area near to our holiday cottage, and located next to farm fields, close to Balgavies Loch and Nature Reserve, and beside Montreathmont Forest.

Bumblebee cabins amazing
I loved how cosy and warm the cabin is. Everything was clean and easy to use.
One thing I particularly liked was how there was a QR code on the wall that tells you how the cabin works, any nearby areas, and what to do in case of an emergency.

Bumblebee Cabin is one of the best places I've stayed at anywhere. Absolutely beautiful. Location is stunning. Accommodation is unbelievably perfect and every attention to detail has been meticulously executed and Lindsay and Ian couldn't make u feel more welcome. Fantastic couple. The place is a little peace of heaven. I'm from Scotland originally by birth and lived there in my younger years and can’t find enough excuses to go back there and so being here is a different planet and it's just amazing.

An amazing little getaway! Bumblebee Cabin was furnished beautifully, with sweet little touches everywhere you looked. The cabin is clean, compact, and everything you would need as a base for some adventures in this most beautiful part of the country.
Our host Ian was very friendly and we received lots of information prior to check-in to help make the experience smooth sailing.
We also took our dog along! She was thoroughly spoiled with her own welcome package, and a lovely space outside to explore (if kept on a lead or under close control!). There is no fence between the two cabins so be considerate when sharing the space.
The only thing we struggled with was the cooking facilities. The cabin has an air fryer and portable hob. We'd not used an air fryer before so needed to learn fast! There is no toaster or microwave, something which caught us off guard.
Overall, I would highly recommend Bumblebee Cabin and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for having us!

Lovely stay. Highly recommended.
Lovely, compact cabin, with nice views. Comfortable and clean. The layout of the furniture made excellent use of limited space, without making it feel cramped. Quiet, peaceful location, and only a 15-minute drive from Forfar. Dedicated parking space was very handy. Owners were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend, and would definitely book again.

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay in Bumblebee Cabin, with great views out over the Angus countryside. The cabin is very well thought out, with clever utilisation of the space. The bathroom has a decent shower with shampoo and conditioner supplied. It has a full sized double bed, the kitchen is very well equipped and the cabin has WiFi and Alexa. It’s very comfortable for 2 people. The pool is a great bonus too, with pool towels and robes supplied, along with some pool accessories. We’ve throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book at Redroofs again.

Absolutely brilliant. I was there for a work placement and will recommend for the next person needing to travel to Forfar. Comfortable, warm, clean and well decorated. The owners are very kind and friendly. Could not recommend more
